Hellenic IT Museum

Hellenic IT Museum®, the only IT Museum in Southeast Europe, started its operations in 2008 and since 2012 the Museum constitutes the first official Greek organisation that exclusively exhibits the IT history timeline from 1970 to mid-90s.

Using the motto “The museum that clicks with you”, the Hellenic IT Museum represents the “time capsule of IT” in Greece. At the Museum, the visitor gets familiar with the significant rare collection of objects from the field of Informatics. An interactive journey in which our 5,500 exhibits reveal the stories behind every technological achievement of Informatics. From the wooden first mouse, the storage media in the size of a refrigerator, to the 15 kg laptops!

The Hellenic IT Museum aims to:

• educate those who want to learn the history of Informatics and feel nostalgic for their past.
• offer future generations the experience of an interactive tour.
• provide the possibility to every social group, from around Greece and perhaps from all over the world, to have access to the Museum and learn about the history of Information Technology through its collection and the narrative tour it offers.
