Description

There are almost 200,000 items (books, scores, records, manuscripts, cds, dvd, letters, awards, paintings, photographs…) held by the Music Library “Lillian Voudouri” of the Friends of Music Society, each a separate piece, necessary to play the most fun and endless game that is knowledge. But there are rules in this game too, let’s discover them together by arranging what readers have left on the Library’s tables. What material is this? A Beethoven score, a rebetika record, a ballet videotape, a microfilm… By reading and listening to some music pieces, students learn to recognize types of music, specific composers, different musical notations and in the end, we will all try to participate in a musical surprise.
A unique treasure awaits us. We will walk together in the Library to discover some of the thousands of aspects of the art of music in which we all, each in our own way, immerse ourselves daily. The aim of the program is to raise students’ awareness of exploring and discovering many more types of music than they usually hear, opening eyes and ears to new musical horizons.

Interdisciplinarity and implementation in the courses of the Curriculum:
Music, History
Note: The program is offered per class of a maximum of 30 students
