Description

The Nikos Kazantzakis Museum is located in Myrtia, the author’s ancestral village. In the Museum’s Permanent Exhibition, in a space where light and shadow alternate, more than 650 exhibits are presented with a contemporary look and aesthetic, which highlight the timelessness and universality of Kazantzakis’ thought, offering for all visitors a charming journey in the life, words and reflections of the author.
Through a live and interactive tour, visitors have the opportunity to get to know the author’s personality and ideas by visiting the five thematic sections of the Museum.
Guided by the Museum’s scientific staff, visitors discover the life and work of Kazantzakis through his letters and diaries, personal items and souvenirs of his travels, hard-to-find photographs, models of sets and costumes, performances of his works, rare audio-visual material, as well as works of art inspired by his literary world.
